NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say man who was fatally shot by a police officer in northern Indiana following a traffic stop pointed a handgun at the officer before he was shot.

State police on Thursday released updated information about the Tuesday evening shooting death of 40-year-old Michael Kline of North Manchester.

State police say a North Manchester officer pulled over a pickup for failure to properly signal a turn and Kline, who was driving the truck, stopped in a parking lot. Police say Kline got out of the truck with a gun before the officer fired shots at him.

Two other officers were on the scene. No officers were injured.
