Officers responded to 2919 Lillie St. on Saturday at 9:51 p.m. after a man told dispatchers that a suspect was inside his sister-in-law's home.
The man told police his sister-in-law was on vacation but she could see the suspect walking through her house on a home security camera. They believed the suspect had a gun.
Officers say they found the back window of the home damaged, which appeared to be how the man got inside.
Police used loudspeakers in an attempt to communicate with the man but he didn't respond.
The department's Crisis Response and Emergency Services teams surrounded the home with the help of the Aerial Support Unit.
At 12:31 a.m. Sunday, just before CRT attempted to make contact with the suspect, they say he ran out the front door.
He was caught in an alley next to the home and taken into custody.
