FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- The Allen County SPCA held its 3rd annual Pedal for Promises at Pedal City Sunday evening.
A portion of the proceeds went to Pet Promises, a program through the SPCA that aims to keep pets in their homes and out of shelters by providing spay and neuter services, vaccines, and anything else a pet may have to go without due to a family not having the money.
"Pet owners might be lacking means. They might be low income, they might be elderly, they might be shut-ins for example. They might just need some pet food once in a while, and the SPCA has a comprehensive program to address any of those gaps in services," said Jessica Henry with the SPCA.
Last year the event raised close to $5,000. While it's only once a year, anyone can donate to the cause at any time.
