PAULDING, Ohio (WFFT) — State troopers were led on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash and four people arrested in Paulding County Saturday morning.
On Saturday, July 4, just before 7:45 a.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers say they tried to pull over a 2019 Infiniti QX5 that was speeding, on U.S. Highway 24 near mile marker 3 in Paulding County.
Police say the driver didn't pull over and ultimately crashed while trying to make a left turn onto County Road 60 from County Road 107.
The driver, identified 22-year-old Ricky L. Taylor, of Muncie, Indiana was the first person arrested by police following the crash.
Taylor and charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, and is being held at the Paulding County Jail.
Troopers say three other people got out of the car and took off running.
OSHP said at about 9:15 a.m., using an aircraft, they were able to locate and arrest a 17-year-old teenager who took off running.
He was found in a nearby cornfield.
Shortly after 1 p.m. police were able to arrest the other two people who ran away and were found in a wooded area along a creek.
Troopers arrested 18-year-old Demareyon K. Robinson, also of Muncie, Indiana, and a 16-year-old teen.
Robinson was charged with obstructing official business and is also being held at the Paulding County Jail.
Police say the two teens were released to relatives pending further investigation.
