Palindrome Week 2019 explained

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — From Sept. 10 - Sept. 19 the dates on the calendar will read the same forward and backward.

A palindrome, is typically used to describe words such as racecar, level and civic.

For 10 days this month, the dates will look like this:

  • 9-10-19
  • 9-11-19
  • 9-12-19
  • 9-13-19
  • 9-14-19
  • 9-15-19
  • 9-16-19
  • 9-17-19
  • 9-18-19
  • 9-19-19


According to Time and Date, palindrome days are common in the “m-dd-yy” format for dates, which is commonly used in the United States.

Every year since 2011 has had 10 consecutive palindrome days.

Time and Date says every century has nine years this happens in the “m-dd-yy” format.

The next time this happens will be in 92 years, 2111, according to Time and Date.
