FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — An overnight shooting in Fort Wayne has left a man seriously hurt, according to police.
On Saturday just after 1 a.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 5000 block of Werling Drive regarding a shooting.
Officers said when they arrived at the scene they found a man inside the house who appeared to be shot in the head.
Police said he was conscious and able to speak to them.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition.
FWPD said when the victim arrived at the hospital his condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.
Investigators say the victim was in the front yard of the home when he was shot.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses to gather additional details and determine a potential suspect.
