One person escapes apartment fire

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to the fire around 2 a.m Saturday morning.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to the 3500 block of Warsaw St. for an apartment fire around 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

One adult was in the apartment and managed to get out, however that person did suffer from smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene.

The fire that started in the kitchen was under control 13 minutes after FWFD arrived on the scene.

The apartment suffered heavy smoke and water damage.
