Occupants evacuate in Northside Drive fire

When crews arrived they found smoke and flames coming from the one story home. Firefighters used an aggressive internal attack to get the blaze under control in about 17 minutes.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Fort Wayne firefighters are investigating a fire on Northside Drive. 

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening at 2916 Northside Drive. 

When crews arrived they found smoke and flames coming from the one story home. Firefighters used an aggressive internal attack to get the blaze under control in about 17 minutes. 

Two adults and a child evacuated safely. 

Crews also found two cats inside but were unable to rescue them. 

No other injuries were reported.
