PERU, Ind. (WFFT) — One woman was killed after a crash on U.S. 24 on Monday.
Indiana State Police officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 24 at Wabash Street around 3:00 p.m.
Officers say Peggy Boggs, 82, of North Manchester, Indiana was driving a 2015 Ford Fusion northbound on Wabash Street, approaching a stop sign at U.S. 24.
Officers said Boggs failed to stop for the sign and pulled onto U.S. 24.
The car was struck in the driver’s door by and an eastbound 2003 Ford Ranger, driven by Stephen Conner, 72, of Urbana, Indiana.
Boggs was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Investigators believe Boggs might have suffered a medical episode before the crash. The other driver was not injured.
This crash is still under investigation and police don’t believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
