FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - For the first time ever Fort Wayne received a visit from Nigeria's Ambassador.
His Excellency Honorable Justice Sylvanus Adiewere and his wife joined in on the fun with traditional music, food, and dance for the annual gala here in the Summit City.

"We're just so elated- happy to see that this happened and it's happened in my time. Very glad to see that happen. We're very glad because it's just like having the president of Nigeria here to celebrate Independence Day with us. That's how significant today is to us," Tony Aduro, President of the Nigerian Association of Fort Wayne said.
Oct. 1 marks 59 years since Nigeria gained its Independence from Great Britain.
