FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- The state-wide moratorium on gas and electric disconnections ended Monday, and NIPSCO is offering assistance to those in need.
From December 1 through March 15, the company did not turn off any gas or electric services in houses under the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Now NIPSCO wants to make it easier for people to pay their bills.
The company says it has a variety of plans available to fit different financial needs.
“For instance, we have programs such as our three and six-month plans [or] arrangements that customers can review and determine that might be something available they can enroll in,” communications manager Joshauna Nash said.
Customers do not have to qualify for LIHEAP to be eligible for a payment plan.
