FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- In a letter to parents on Sunday, Northwest Allen County Schools Superintendent Chris Himsel encouraged parents to have their students wear masks in class.
Masks are currently optional for students and parents inside NACS schools and are required on school buses.
Himsel cited the increasing number of cases in Allen County, which is at an orange advisory level, as one of the reasons for the recommendation.
He said school districts around Indiana have already gone to remote learning or mandated masks "because of significant and rapid increases in the number of COVID cases and resulting quarantines."
Himsel also provided families with links to resources if they have questions about wearing a mask or vaccinations.
