FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- A motorcycle driver is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after colliding with a car Monday evening.
The crash was reported at 7:16 p.m. at the intersection of Spring Street and Rumsey Avenue.
Police say the initial investigation shows the motorcycle was heading east on Spring Street when a car heading the opposite direction failed to yield the right of way and turned into the path of the motorcycle.
When officers arrived they found the driver lying in the middle of the intersection, and was not wearing a helmet.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
The driver of the car remained at the scene.
Investigators say he is cooperating with them and was not injured in the crash.
Investigators say alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the crash on the part of the car's driver.
The crash is under investigation.
On Sunday a woman died after her motorcycle struck a vehicle that turned in front of her.
