FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — All Fort Wayne and Mishawaka Area Mike’s Carwash locations teamed up Friday, July 16 through Monday, July 19 to support the YMCA Youth Service Bureau’s programs for vulnerable youth and their families.
Mike’s six Fort Wayne and one Mishawaka location donated half of the proceeds from all Ultimate washes sold during that time to the YMCA Youth Service Bureau which totaled nearly $23,000 to support critical youth work.
"We are blessed to have an incredible resource for youth and their families right here in the community where we were founded over 70 years ago," says President of Mike's Carwash Mike Dahm. "We are extremely proud of the work the Youth Service Bureau is doing and are thrilled to support their work by generating more funds than ever at this year’s event!”
Since 1994, the Youth Service Bureau has provided support for troubled youth and their families.
While their primary goal is to provide crisis and intervention services, they do much more.
“The effort Mike’s Carwash staff put into hosting this event is so important because the fundraising makes a difference in the lives of area youth through YMCA Youth Service Bureau programs,” Executive Director of the Youth Service Bureau Amy Dahm Just said. “We are grateful to Mike’s for their commitment to youth in our community.”
Through advocacy, they give at-risk adolescents the tools, skills and support they need to succeed and grow into thriving adults and community members.
