ANGOLA, Ind. (WFFT) — A Michigan man was arrested Monday morning after police say he tried to purchase a stolen vehicle in exchange for marijuana.
On Sunday, the Steuben County Sheriff's Office says they received information that 39-year-old Andrew Wade Galinis of Quincy, Michigan was interested in buying a vehicle that was listed for sale online in Steuben County in exchange for a pound and a half of marijuana.
Monday morning at around 9:30, plainclothes Steuben County deputies say they met with Galinis in the parking lot of the Love's Travel Center located in the 3400 block of West Maumee Street in Angola.
Investigators say after a short conversation, Galinis allegedly showed them the marijuana he intended to trade for the vehicle, and was arrested shortly after.
Galinis was booked into the Steuben County Jail on one count of Dealing Marijuana over 30 grams, a level 6 felony and is currently being held on a $3,000 bond.
