FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — A local health and dental clinic is closing down temporarily after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, officials announced Thursday.

Matthew 25 says based on the advice of Allen County Health Department, any staff member who interacted directly with the individual who tested positive, without wearing personal protective equipment, must also isolate themselves for 14 days and closely monitor for any symptoms.
"Based on the number of staff who must self-quarantine, we cannot safely and effectively run the clinic at this time," according to a release Matthew 25 issued.
Matthew 25 Clinic plans to reopen on May 11, with reduced hours from 8:15 a.m. – noon.
Even though the building will be closed, the Matthew 25 staff says they will continue to serve patients from home.
Patients can contact the phone nurse at 260-426-3250 ext. 237.
The clinic says Parkview is assisting in filling critical medications for their patients during this closure.
If you are a current patient with a prescription refill request, call 260-469-0232.
You are asked to leave your name, date of birth, and medication name.
Officials say the medication room will coordinate with you on how to obtain your medications.
For all dental concerns, dial 260-426-3250 ext. 258.
The Medical Leadership Team at Matthew 25 "reassures all patients who came to the clinic for an appointment or for medication pick up that their chances of exposure are minimal."
They say the individual with the positive test wore PPE at all times while working with the public.
