FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The man responsible for a brutal attack with a baseball bat that left a man seriously injured and later died last year learned his sentencing from a judge on Friday afternoon.
According to court records, Levi Arnold of Bluffton was sentenced to over 51 years in prison by Allen County Judge Frances Gull.

As part of his plea deal, which considers him to be mentally ill, his charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery were dropped.
Arnold was sentenced to 1 year and 183 days, with a jail credit of 405 days, for resisting law enforcement and 50 years for murder.
That morning, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the Apple Glen Walmart at 10:25 after receiving a report that a man in a gray hoodie and black ski mask was driving around the parking lot in a Chevy Impala in connection to Walker's attack.
Before officers arrived, Arnold sped off from the parking lot and got away from a detective who located his car down the road during a chase.
Walker was initially taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but his condition worsened to critical condition.
Three months later, he became Allen County's 25th homicide of 2020 when he was pronounced dead in July.
Arnold will also have to pay $11,775.81 in restitution to Walker's family.
