FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- Police arrested a man Thursday after they say he fired shots inside a home and refused to come out.
Fort Wayne police responded to 6409 Margo Way at 4:53 p.m. after a caller told dispatchers a man fired a handgun inside the house.
Officers say people inside the home when the shots were fired left to call 911.
Police attempted to make contact with the 49-year-old man inside.
Eventually, they said, they were able to reach him and spoke to him on the phone for several hours.
Police say their Emergency Services Team eventually entered the home and took him into custody.
The man was taken to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
