FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation is stepping up to support families in their time of need.
On Thursday, leaders from the Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation presented Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House with a check for $50,000.
“On behalf of our entire membership, I’m extremely proud to present this check to the Hope House today,” said Sherri Miller, president of the Mad Anthonys board of directors. “Our hope and expectation when we cancelled this summer’s events was to still present a gift of support to the Hope House, and it was inspiring to see how our membership stepped up over the past several months to help us meet that critical goal.”
In addition, a matching program made possible by Mad Anthonys enabled the Hope House to raise an additional $28,892 through its Hopeloween event, bringing the total amount raised for the Hope House in 2020 through the support of Mad Anthonys to nearly $80,000.
“Even though the Charity Classic and Red Coat Dinner were cancelled this year, the needs of the families we serve did not go away,” said Melissa Dessaigne, executive director of the Hope House. “This year in particular, we are incredibly grateful to the Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation for their incredible commitment to the Hope House – and their tireless efforts to support our mission through these difficult circumstances.”
Officials say this year’s donation brings the total donated by the Children’s Foundation to the Hope House and several other local charities to more than $5 million.
