FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) —While some may be anxious to go into businesses that have reopened during the pandemic, many members of the Fort Wayne community are hesitant.
“If there is an organization that you feel is not quite meeting what your needs are then you can choose to not continue,” said Dena Jacquay, Parkview Health Chief Community & Human Resource Officer. “It’s important to share your feedback with them.”

Fort Wayne health and city leaders are providing tips for the community to help ease the anxiety of reentering businesses with the Roadmap to a Healthy Reopening webinar series.
“I think that is one of the ways we need to retool our brain and our behavior, is being more mindful of our surroundings,” said Jeffrey Boord, “What we have seen that is encouraging is the decline in the number of people hospitalized because of COVID-19.”
Boord said it is important to keep those most vulnerable in mind when going out into the public.
While some businesses may require customers to wear masks or use contactless payment, others may reopen with looser restrictions.
Jacquay said the community will play a big role in setting the standard for businesses as they reopen.
“Communication is so important,” Jacquay said. “Not only to help the organizations know how they can best protect you but also so you can share a voice in that.”
