FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - This baseball community won’t be stopped by a little paint.
Vandals tattered Foster Park Little League’s dugout walls with graffiti last week.
Runners pacing the nearby trail, noticed the profane images splattered on the walls and informed authorities.
The vandalism struck a strong nerve in the Park’s board members--some who even played on the field as youngsters, now coaching their own children to run the bases.
Forest Park LL board member, Shaun Davis says, “it’s saddening, this is where I bring my kids all the time.”
Though hurt by the damage done to the park in which they invest their lives, Foster Park board members agreed to launch a GoFundMe campaign for a new mural to replace the graffiti-stricken walls.
Having recently surpassed their goal, you could say they hit that ball out of the park.
