KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WFFT) - The Kendallville police officer who shot a man last month won't face any charges.
Noble County prosecutor James B. Mowery said in a news release on Nov. 22 officer Douglas Davis was following up on a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of Aspen Cove.
Davis met Faustino Jesus Vasquez, 28, who pointed a gun at him.
Mowery said Davis drew his gun and fired at Vasquez, hitting him at least twice.
Davis then sought cover and called for officer support and medical assistance for Vasquez.
The Kendallville Police Department conducted its own internal investigation and determined Davis did not violate any Kendallville Police Department protocols or procedures.
The matter regarding possible charges against Vasquez remains under investigation.
