INDIANAPOLIS (WFFT) — The Indiana State Department of Health reported 977 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, which brings the total to 680,998 people.
The state also reported eight new deaths, bringing the total to 12,576 deaths across the state.
Another 87 Allen County residents tested positive for COVID-19 bringing the total to 37,439 cases and 658 deaths Thursday.
Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH.
Death reported Thursday occurred between Dec. 6 and March 24.
Indiana currently has a 7-Day positivity rate of 8.9% for unique individuals.
The Allen County Department of Health announced another 87 Allen County residents tested positive for COVID-19 bringing the total to 37,439 cases and 658 deaths Thursday.
Across northeast Indiana, 140 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths were reported to ISDH.
A total of 406 probable deaths have been reported to ISDH.
Probable deaths are those for which a physician listed COVID-19 as a contributing cause based on X-rays, scans and other clinical symptoms but no positive test is on record.
These do not count towards the daily death toll.
ISDH says their dashboard has been updated to remove duplicate entries and correct county of residences with data submitted to them.
A total of 2,548,924 doses have been administered in Indiana since late December.
This includes 1,530,403 first doses and 1,018,521 individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine and are fully vaccinated as a result.
