INDIANAPOLIS (WFFT) — The Indiana State Department of Health reported 1,140 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, which brings the total to 92,434 people.
The state also reported eight new deaths, bringing the total to 3,066 deaths across the state.
Another 57 Allen County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, with 52 confirmed PCR cases and five probable antigen cases, bringing the total to 4,904 cases and 174 deaths Saturday.
Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH, the deaths reported Saturday occurred between Aug. 23 and Aug. 28.
A total of 1,055,793 people have been tested in Indiana, 8.8% of those tested are a positive coronavirus case.
The Allen County Department of Health announced there are now 4,904 cases and 174 deaths as of Saturday.
A total of 219 probable deaths have been reported to ISDH.
Probable deaths are those for which a physician listed COVID-19 as a contributing cause based on X-rays, scans and other clinical symptoms but no positive test is on record.
These do not count towards the daily death toll.
Officials say testing for COVID-19 is now available by request statewide at Optum testing sites.
ISDH says their dashboard has been updated to remove duplicate entries and correct county of residence with data submitted to them.
