INDIANAPOLIS (WFFT) — The Indiana State Department of Health reported 4,411 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, which brings the total to 578,494 people.
The state also reported 40 new deaths, bringing the total to 8,830 deaths across the state.
The Allen County case count now includes a total of 10,399 probable cases from antigen tests reported since July 28.
Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH.
The deaths reported Thursday occurred between Dec. 31 and Jan. 13.
A total of 2,792,291 have been tested in Indiana, 20.7% of those tested are positive coronavirus cases.
The Allen County Department of Health announced there are now 31,419 cases and 539 deaths as of Thursday.

A total of 373 probable deaths have been reported to ISDH.
Probable deaths are those for which a physician listed COVID-19 as a contributing cause based on X-rays, scans and other clinical symptoms but no positive test is on record.
These do not count towards the daily death toll.

ISDH says their dashboard has been updated to remove duplicate entries and correct county of residences with data submitted to them.
