Indiana Conservation Officers investigate snowmobile accident

Two people were injured in a snowmobile accident in Steuben County.

ANGOLA, Ind. (WFFT)- Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a snowmobile accident that left two people injured.

It happened Christmas day just after 12:30 p.m. Steuben County communications received a call from Chad Straw, 40, of Angola saying he had been in a serious snowmobile accident on his property on County Road 600 West. 

Straw said his passenger, Kyrie Kopf, 31, was unresponsive. Samaritan Helicopter flew Kopf to Parkview due to extensive head injuries. Straw was transported by Steuben County EMS. 

Neither of them were wearing helmets. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
