FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - Volunteers scattered Fort Wayne working on various projects Wednesday.
It was part of the United Way's Day of Caring.
More than 1,600 people volunteered doing various tasks such as helping paint buildings at Franke Park.
"We're out doing something we normally don't get to do. Other people help us take care of the Embassy Theater, so it's important to give back. It's important to give back to the community and been seen in it and to support each other," said Kelly Updike, Embassy Theater CEO, who helped paint.
Volunteers helped with 90 community service projects across Allen County.
