High school student dead, several hurt in crash

A vehicle carrying six people struck a box truck and landed on its top. A second car was involved, but FOX 55 is working to learn more on the circumstances of the crash.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- A high school student is dead and several other people were hurt after a multi-vehicle crash Friday afternoon. 

Police were called to the 9100 block of Wayne Trace around 3:30 p.m.

A vehicle carrying six people struck a box truck and landed on its top. A second car was involved, but FOX 55 is working to learn more on the circumstances of the crash. 

Allen County Dispatch said one person is dead, another was airlifted in critical condition, and another was seriously hurt. Three more people suffered minor injuries. Three people in the other car were not hurt. 

EACS said on their Facebook page all of the students were from Heritage High School. 

Police are still investigating the crash. FOX 55 will have more details as they become available.
