FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Guitar Center officials announced Friday it will close down its Fort Wayne location at the end of the month.
Leaders say the closure is due to the expiration of the building lease, along with plans to explore the relocation and upgrade of the Guitar Center store.
The current Fort Wayne store, located at 422 W. Coliseum Boulevard, will close, effective on Jan. 30.
“With the lease expiring on our existing Fort Wayne location, we are closing that location and taking the opportunity to explore opportunities for a more modern space. We remain committed to serving the Fort Wayne community with all that Guitar Center has to offer and hope to announce a new store location later in 2021,” Guitar Center EVP of Stores Wayne Colwell, said in a statement.
Officials say Fort Wayne store employees have been offered other roles in the organization, including positions teaching online lessons or assisting Guitar Center customers via its call center.
Fort Wayne customers can find help and support via the Guitar Center website.
All nearby Guitar Center retail stores will continue to accept returns within policy and support customer purchases.
