FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The victim of an early morning crash that left one man dead has been identified by the coroner.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Johnluke Dartanyan B. Callebaut of Grabill.
Just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Fort Wayne police were called to the intersection of Maysville Road and Stellhorn Road on the city's northeast side in regards to a car crash with injuries.
Officers said when they arrived to the scene a driver crashed their van into a tree.
The van's driver was an adult female who police say was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
FWPD says Callebaut, the passenger in the front seat, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The coroner has ruled the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries due to motor vehicle crash and the manner of death is an accident.
Callebaut is the 4th fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County for 2020.
This incident remains under investigation.
