AUBURN, Ind. (WFFT) -- The Dekalb County community is going to be a little healthier after this year’s Giving Tuesday.
"We're going to take dollars and put them in the hands of trusted partners in the community who best know how to serve those citizens and that's empowering," Matt Bechdol with The Community Foundation of Dekalb County said.
The Community Foundation of Dekalb County received its highest donation yet of nearly $3 Million from Parkview Health and Dekalb Health Foundation.
The nonprofit said this will go toward creating a healthier community.
People aren't the only ones benefiting from Giving Tuesday.
One county over, pets are also getting help with donations toward the Allen County SPCA.
This year's goal is $30,000.
ACSPCA survives only off of donations.
"We have two very generous $15,000 donors, so if we can raise $30,000 from our community donors in the community, those donors will match that for a total of $60,000 to help us save lives here at the SPCA," Allen County SPCA Executive Director Jessica Henry said.
