FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- A day to dismember in Fort Wayne.
Hordes of the undead made their way through the streets of downtown for Fright Night 2021 on Saturday.
“We’ve done this for a number of years. It’s a hugely attended event. Very well supported. Multigenerational and multicultural,” Rick Zolman with the Downtown Improvement District said.
An estimated 9,000 cannibal corpses gathered downtown for the post-apocalyptic Halloween celebration.
“They take to the streets and kind of take over the streets,” Zolman said.
After being laid to rest last year because of the pandemic, the event returned for its unlucky number 13th year.
“Especially after Covid and everything this past year. I think it’s great getting people out,” Alex Johnson said.
Johnson is a dancer for K. Monique Studio of Dance, which kicked the festivities off with a ghoulish performance.
The spooky sights didn't scare sisters Olivia and Abbi.
“I don’t know what I’m gonna be," Olivia said. "I’m gonna be Hermione Granger," Abbi said.
They can’t wait to go trick or treating in a couple of weeks.
