FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who was killed late Monday afternoon in Fort Wayne.
Authorities said the victim was involved in a collision in the 8500 block of U.S. Highway 33, in Fort Wayne, just after 6 p.m. Monday.
The coroner identified the victim as 93-year-old Wilhelmina Elizabeth McGinnis-Doell of Fort Wayne .
McGinnis-Doell was a passenger in a car that was involved in a head-on collision while a car was attempting to pass a semi-tractor trailer-rig.
Wilhelmina Elizabeth McGinnis-Doell was pronounced deceased at the scene by Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
The coroner ruled the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries due to motor vehicle crash, and the manner of death is an accident.
McGinnis-Doell is the 9th traffic fatality for Allen County in 2020.
The incident remains under investigation by Allen County authorities.
