FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Police are trying to figure out what happened after a woman was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries early Friday morning.
The Fort Wayne Police Department was called to the St. Joe Hospital Emergency Room at around 12:15 a.m. Friday after a woman who was beaten was driven to the hospital by someone.
Police say the victim’s injuries indicate they were the result of a physical assault.
They say the victim was later transferred to another local hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Investigators were told the woman's injuries came from a fight that occurred in the 1000 block of Home Avenue.
FWPD says it is too early in the investigation to determine the nature of the injuries or the exact cause of them.
Detectives are interviewing several witnesses and say they hope to have more information after those interviews are done.
There is no information about a suspect at this time.
This incident remains under investigation.
