FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Fort Wayne Police Department says they have safely found 17-year-old Derrick Miller after he was reported missing earlier Thursday afternoon.
FWPD says Derrick has been at Crossroad Child & Family Services for about a month, placed out of Indianapolis and does not know anyone in the area.
He is diagnosed with Autism and has the mental age of a 10-year-old according to Crossroads.
Derrick was last seen wearing red short-sleeved shirt, grey sweat pants, and a black Dickies coat.
He is described as a male, white about 5’11" tall and weighs about 165 pounds.
Police say when Derrick is nervous he can become nonverbal.
As of 4:30 p.m., he was found and safely returned to Crossroads.
