FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- Just after 10:30 Monday night, Fort Wayne police responded to a shooting near Eckart and Winter streets.
Captain Sofia Rosales-Scatena with the Fort Wayne Police Department said officers found a kid who was shot.
The injuries are not life-threatening.
Later in the night, police responded to a shots fired call near Latch String Bar and Grill on Clinton Street.
A manager did not want to comment on the incident, but did say the shots were not fired on bar property.
Rosales-Scatena said situations like that near a crowded place can be risky.
“Having that high concentration of people in that small area, and then having shots fired and trying to get everyone out can become really really chaotic,” she said.
This is the second shooting in two days involving a bar.
Early Sunday morning, police responded to a shooting on Main Street that reportedly stemmed from an argument at Pedal City.
That left a man in life-threatening condition.
“Luckily no one was hurt at Latch String,” Rosales-Scatena said. “I hope this was the last of that for a while. Until we can kind of really look into our community and see what’s going on.”
Rosales-Scatena said the police department needs all the details it can get to track down those responsible.
“No detail is too small for us,” she said. “We will investigate everything, we just need people to come forward.”
The Latch String manager also said the bar will be decreasing its hours.
Anyone with information on any of these incidents should call Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
