FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — A man was seriously injured after being shot inside his motel room by someone he knew Saturday night, according to Fort Wayne police.
On Saturday at about 7:20 p.m. a Fort Wayne Police Officer who was patrolling the area near the Coliseum Inn Hotel at 1020 N. Coliseum Blvd. when he was flagged down by a man who told him that he’d been shot.

The victim reportedly told the officer he knew who shot him while he was inside room 319.
Medics arrived at the Inn and treated the victim who was then transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
Once he arrived at the hospital, police reported that doctors said the man was in critical condition.
Detectives say a person of interest in the shooting was detained near the scene and is being interviewed.
