OSSIAN, Ind. (WFFT) — Police in Wells County arrested two people in connection to a shooting that took place outside of a manufacturing facility seriously injuring an employee.
At about 10 a.m. Friday, Indiana State Police, and other police departments in Wells County, to a reported shooting at the Berne Workwear facility, which is located in the industrial complex on the south side of Ossian on County Road 850 North.
Officers said when they arrived a man was found in the parking lot on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital where he remains in serious condition but is stable.
After the shooting happened witnesses told police the suspect and a woman drove off in a silver Chevrolet Impala.
Officers say this helped them quickly locate and capture the suspected shooter who was found 20 minutes later on State Road 1 just south of Interstate 469 in Allen County.
After the car was pulled over troopers say the man in the passenger seat, identified as 28-year-old Reonte Cliffton Moore, and the woman driving, identified as 21-year-old Jayana Lamia Herman, both of Fort Wayne, were both taken into custody.
Both were taken to the Wells County Sheriff's Department for questioning by ISP detectives and then arrested.
Moore was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted murder.
Herman was arrested on preliminary charges of aiding aggravated battery and aiding a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm.
Investigators say this shooting was an isolated incident that occurred between the two men, who are both employees at Berne Workwear.
No other employees were injured during this shooting.
This shooting remains under investigation by authorities in Wells County and the Indiana State Police.
