FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was killed in a house fire Tuesday night.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department said one man and his dog were killed in a house fire on the city's southside Tuesday.

FWFD responded to a house fire in the area of Gay and Pontiac streets just before 9:40 p.m.
When members of Engine 11 arrived they said a large amount of fire was coming from the house at 2612 Gay St.
FWFD said a fire victim was quickly found but was pronounced dead by medics at the scene.
The victim was identified as 71-year-old C.B. Benson of Fort Wayne.
The coroner ruled Benson's cause of death as smoke inhalation and thermal burns and the manner of death is an accident.
Firefighters said one dog was found dead in the home.
FWFD said one firefighter had minor injuries from the fire.
Firefighters said the fire was under control in 30 minutes.
This fire remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Fire Department and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
