The quarter and semi-final rounds of the tournament will be played from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on March 20 and 21.
“That means more hotel rooms, more visitors to Fort Wayne and hopefully a better environment here in the arena for the games to happen,” said Nathan Dennison, Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Vice President of Sales.
Visit Fort Wayne anticipates the economic impact of hosting the tournament to be around $630,000.
“If someone is a Division III follower or alumni of those schools and they haven’t been to Fort Wayne in a few years, they are going to be pleasantly surprised on what they see happening around town,” said Stephanie Coleman, Sports Group Sales Manager for Visit Fort Wayne.
The 64 teams participating in the Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament were selected Monday afternoon.
