FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FOX 55) - Kevin Nguyen’s family have been posting missing flyers in the downtown Fort Wayne area and making Facebook posts hoping somebody knows something about the disappearance of the 25 year old.
It all started when Kevin was dropped off at the Brass Rail in downtown Fort Wayne on Friday, December 7th.
According to his family, Kevin was kicked out of the bar between 2:30 and 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning.. That's when he called his sister for a ride home. However, when his mother showed up to get him, he was nowhere to be found.
Alena Rasnick, a family friend, recalled "after many attempts of calling and no answer, she [the mother] came into the bar and they told him Kevin was here, but he was thrown out for different reasons, altercations..."
His credit card was used to buy pizza from a food truck outside the bar.
Cameras outside of the Brass Rail would have captured Kevin outside, but the family said they were initially told there was no footage. His family believes the bar is partly to blame.
Lance Yankey, Kevin's father, spoke with bar management. He said "I said for what he did and what y’all said he did and the bouncer touching him and taking him to the ground, you should have called the cops and restrained him, but no, they just let him go. They let a young kid, 20, 15 degrees outside wearing nothing but a hoodie being beat up and just let him go."
Rasnick added "he’s never not come home from a night out."
The family have been retracing Kevin’s footsteps, frustrated other sources haven’t turned up any information. Kevin’s last known sighting is at the Arby's on Jefferson at 2:41 a.m. He was seen on surveillance video walking past the restaurant heading north. After that, no one knows.
"My wife is holding it in and she’s doing better than I am and I’m a grown a** man, sorry I’m a grown man and I just can’t handle it anymore. I’m to the point that someone needs to give me some answers. I just want to know if he’s alive or the other way."
FOX 55 News was told by the Fort Wayne PD they reviewed the footage from the Brass Rail and Arby’s on Monday morning and released a statement that read in part.
“...The Fort Wayne Police Department has found no signs or evidence of foul play in the disappearance.”
Kevin is 6 feet tall and weights between 160-180 lbs, has black hair and a small black gauge earring in one ear, and was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket and tan skinny jeans and black vans.
If you’ve seen Kevin or know any information on his whereabouts, you’re asked to call Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222.
