FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- People made their way to downtown near Parkview Field for the Fort Wayne Ball Drop.
The last event, more than 2,000 people attended the Ball Drop.
Everyone is hoping for another safe year including Indiana State Police.
"Give yourself plenty of time to travel safely. Ensure that you have a designated driver or a safe way home if you plan to consume alcohol tonight, and be prepared to give yourself a little extra time," Sgt. Shaun Armes said.
Sarah Buuck and her husband Dane Buuck just moved back to Fort Wayne and decided this year they would party here at the Ball Drop.
When asked them about being among thousands Tuesday night, they were not to worried about the crowd.
"The bigger the crowd, the better for an event like this. It's really exciting Fort Wayne has a Ball Drop. Other places we lived didn't. It's good for the city. We're excited to be out here,” Dane Buuck said.
