FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Fort Wayne Komets announced Tuesday that the team will return to play the weekend of Feb. 12 for a fifty-game regular season.
With the 69th season officially happening, the Komets organization announced several safety protocols that will be in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 and limit any interruptions throughout the reduced season.
The Komets announced some of the following coronavirus-related changes that will be in place for the upcoming season:
- Capacity will be limited to 2,619 (25%) at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum for hockey games.
- Fans cannot eat or drink outside of their immediate seats.
- UV lighting is being installed in escalators to help with sanitation efforts.
- There will be no affiliate players this year.
