FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- Fort Wayne FC will have to wait at least one more year before its able to take the field for its inaugural season.
On Thursday, the National Premier Soccer League announced that it is canceling the 2020 season due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Fort Wayne FC was set to make its NPSL debut on May 23.
The roster featured several Northeast Indiana natives, including former Homestead High School star Marco Navarro, who spoke with FOX 55 via FaceTime on Thursday.
Navarro says that while he was looking forward to the season, he understands why the league had to cancel it.
