FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Wednesday, the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo invited guests to see zoo animals embracing their natural behaviors and instincts during Enrichment Day.

Enrichment Day allows the zookeepers to work with animals on their mental and physical needs.

While all of this is going on, guests also learn more about enrichment techniques used throughout the zoo.

"We have things like puzzle feeders or paper mache, and we'll put treats inside of those, so they get to use their natural behavior to tear it apart and work for their food," Enrichment Day planner Caroline Chastain said.

Educational stations for guests of all ages included helping to create an enrichment item, trying out a puzzle feeder, learning about scents and building a nest.

Enrichment Day activities are free with paid zoo admission.
