AVON, Ind. (WFFT) -- The Avon Police Department announced Thursday the arrest of a former Portland police officer for child solicitation and attempted child seduction charges.
Amid an investigation, Clark was suspended without pay just two weeks ago on May 14.
Avon police officers were investigating reports of child sexual misconduct at the time.
A video posted on Facebook identified the man as officer Josh Clark as he was reportedly attempting to meet up with an underage child to potentially engage in sexual conduct.
The Portland Police Department in a statement said they were aware of the incident, and said "Any crime allegedly committed against a child is appalling; one involving a law enforcement officer is completely unacceptable."
Clark is being held in the Hendricks County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
