Firefighter hurt battling early morning business fire

Crews were called to Nailed DIY just after 4:30 a.m. after their fire alarm was activated.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - A firefighter was hurt battling a fire at a business in Woodland Plaza early Sunday morning. 

Crews were called to Nailed DIY just after 4:30 a.m. after their fire alarm was activated. 

When they arrived, they found a small fire on a counter that had extended into the attic. The structure was under construction and not occupied at the time. 

It took over an hour to get the blaze under control, during which time a firefighter was hurt. 

The extent of the injuries isn't known. 

Crews are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
