FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — A man in Fort Wayne was taken to the hospital in serious condition after a stabbing Sunday night.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Fayette Drive regarding a 911 hang up.
FWPD said while officers were responding dispatch told them the hang-up was in connection to a stabbing.
When officers arrived they found a man who appeared to be stabbed in his abdomen.
He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
After arriving at the hospital, police said the victim’s condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.
Detectives said information that they received so far indicates there was a disturbance at the apartment prior to the stabbing.
Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and hope to get more information about a potential suspect once those interviews are completed.
This stabbing remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
