FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified two men in connection to a fatal double shooting that took place early Friday evening on the south side of Fort Wayne.
At 5:45 p.m. the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 600 block of East Leith Street, near South Hanna Street, in connection to a shooting with multiple shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found two men at the scene who were shot.
The coroner said the victims were determined to be father and son.
The first person was identified as 89-year-old Toma T. Davis of Fort Wayne.
He was found with gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the coroner.
The cause of death was ruled by the coroner to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
Davis is the 38th homicide in Allen County for 2020.
The second man was identified as 57-year-old Hawatheven L. Davis of Fort Wayne.
The coroner said he was found with a gunshot wound and was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of death for Hawatheven L. Davis was ruled to be as gunshot wound of the head and the manner of death is suicide.
This shooting remains under investigation by authorities in Allen County.
