FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - Millions of people are expected to spend tomorrowFriday shopping. Many retailers continue to offer deep discounts on Black Friday, and the Fort Wayne Police Department wants you to stay safe.

Parking lots full of eager shoppers are expected to draw criminals as well. Fort Wayne police say the best way to protect yourself is to have a plan.

FWPD spokesman Michael Joyner says it is best to back in to parking spots instead of pulling in to reduce accidents when you're leaving.

Once inside the store, Joyner says you should never let cashiers place your receipt in the bag. Joyner also wants you to think about how you are going to pay for your gifts.

If you use a credit card, he suggests using only one.
